Allyson, she/hers, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist. She completed her master’s degree of Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy at Notre Dame de Namur University in California in 2017.
Allyson is an existential/humanistic therapist whose goal it is to help you by focusing on you as an individual and your specific needs. Before working as an individual outpatient therapist, she worked in an IOP and PHP for folks with eating disorders for 3 years. Working with this population, followed by her outpatient work, has given her specialties and further insight into EDs, body image, HAES, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief & loss, trauma, LGBTQ+, gender identity, and relationships. Additionally, she is proud to be an art therapist, and passionate in finding creative ways to support your healing.
Allyson is passionate about helping folks move closer to what it means to be their authentic selves. To do this you will collaboratively set goals and periodically review them to make sure they continue to align with your needs- sometimes needs change and that's ok! In your sessions you will work together to build skills and focus on your personal goals and growth.
Allyson believes that you are your own expert, and once you feel safe and comfortable in the therapeutic space you can begin to move forward in exploring who you are/what works best for you. In your early sessions this will be the focus, building rapport and creating a sense of safety and trust. If you think Allyson may be a good fit for you please feel free to reach out!
