During my 28 years in Social Work, 9.5 years have been spent providing therapy in various settings including outpatient, mobile therapy and schools.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology from Rutgers University. I obtained my Master’s degree from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School for Social Work and Social Research. I am a Licensed Social Worker in the state of NJ and have an additional Supervisor Certificate.
I work with adolescents, teens, adults, couples and families. My areas of specialization include: Codependency, Low Self-Esteem, ADHD, ODD, Emotional Regulation Disorder, Mood Disorder, Parenting, Relationship & Family Issues.
My approach to therapy is goal oriented and consists of Psychotherapy, Pyschoeducation and Behavior Modification with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. While there may be an approach that is typically used for a specific issue, I know clients can present with a myriad of issues; therefore, I customize my approach to therapy accordingly. When working with couples I utilize the Gottman Method.
I have found that mental health is not just for people who have a specific diagnosis or disorder. I see mental health as an element of one’s overall well-being and therefore, everyone can benefit
in one way or another from therapy.
I believe in the collective good for a more positive society. I like to contribute to the collective good
because I feel fulfilled when I see others thriving. I find that helping others ultimately helps me
to continuously grow and learn and I want the same for my clients, to continuously learn about
themselves and learn how they can overcome challenges and barriers to thrive.
