I have practiced as an intensive in-community counselor in NJ for over a decade. I obtained a Masters degree in School Counseling from Liberty University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Counseling from Regent University.
My main areas of specialization center around the K-12 population and their families. I also have experience working with families in crisis as an intensive in-community counselor. I have provided family and individual therapy for clients struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, communication issues, ODD, OCD, as well as spectrum disorders.
My personality is that of a light-hearted problem solver. I’m extremely focused on building rapport, using humor to remove barriers, and working together to find a solution. I’m of the persuasion that any problem can be solved, which typically drives motivation.
While my treatment approach is often Cognitive Behavioral, I typically focus on the evidence-based tools I believe will most effectively lead to success. I integrate Behaviorism Theory, Attachment Theory and Existential & Reality Therapy. My goal is to use the most effective therapeutic strategies to lead to the best outcomes for my clients.
I believe we all have intrinsic value and that we are motivated toward attempting to construct meaning and purpose in our lives. Our thoughts, behaviors, and feelings are not just interconnected, but have influence over each other.
Working in the mental health field is my true calling. I have always had an innate desire inside my heart to help others.
