I am a Licensed Associate Counselor and National Certified Counselor who began my clinical counseling experience in early 2024. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and my Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Purdue University Global. In addition to my counseling experience, I bring more than eight years of professional experience in case management and behavioral health services, which has given me the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds who are navigating a wide range of personal and life challenges.
My areas of interest include self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma & PTSD, stress management, substance abuse recovery and life transitions. I recognize that these concerns can affect many areas of a person's life, including relationships, confidence, decision-making, and overall well-being. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable discussing their experiences, gaining a better understanding of themselves, and identifying realistic ways to move toward the changes they want to make.
My counseling style is collaborative and individualized because I believe therapy should reflect the unique needs and goals of each client. I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I use these approaches to help clients recognize connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, identify their strengths and existing resources, establish meaningful goals, and develop practical strategies for change.
I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is built on trust, respect, honesty, and collaboration. I strive to be genuine and approachable while creating an environment where clients can feel heard and respected. I view counseling as a partnership in which clients have an active voice in their treatment, and I believe that both support and appropriate challenge can contribute to meaningful growth. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients increase their self-awareness, strengthen their confidence, recognize their abilities, and develop tools that can continue benefiting them outside of the therapy setting.
